When massive wildfires devastated thousands of homes in Northern CA, we were there to help. We immediately headed into the evacuated zones and worked every day rescuing and feeding abandoned animals.
Residents barely had time to flee with their pajamas on. Countless animals: dogs, horses, cows, cats, birds, reptiles, fish, chickens, bunnies and others were all left behind. It was 8 surreal days of camping in our truck (on our own burned out lot) and using social media to get the word out so that frantic owners could advise where the animals were and how to access them.
Fortunately we were able to rescue and deliver many animals across police lines to their owners while hundreds more were fed and watered daily until the evacuation was lifted and owners returned.
We have a big heart for children in the foster care system. As licensed Foster Care providers, we have provided direct care for kids in need as well as serving as CASA (Court Advocate for Foster Youth). We also support The Taylor House in Roseville CA which offers interim living for girls who have aged out of care at 18 and need help transitioning into the adult world. We are currently looking for another home in Placer County to serve boys. If you know of one that is available to purchase or rent, please let us know!
You’ve got questions and we can’t wait to answer them.
